Sedona Day Trip: Crescent Moon Ranch

 Back again! Yesterday Tim and I spent the day in Sedona at Crescent Moon Ranch, one of my all-time favorite places. I have been coming up to this park since I was a kid! I thought I'd share photos from our venture, I've just been having so much fun with my Canon lately. Enjoy!

We packed a lunch and picnicked before hittin' the trail and water. Tim had never been here before, so it was really cool to see him explore for the first time. He was attacked by bugs while walking through the field of flowers. After snapping these couple photos, he came running and swatting himself all over. Haha!

The water was a little cool, but actually felt nice with the heat. With all the rain we've gotten in Northern Arizona this summer, the views were just beautiful. I was regretful that I didn't come up more this season, but you can bet next summer we'll be camping a lot!

If you've never experienced Sedona, you have to at some point in your life. The terrain is remarkable and the hiking is amazing! After spending some hours at the park, we met up with my parents and siblings for dinner and a dip in the pool at the rental they were staying at.  I'm so glad I got to experience this special place with my husband on just a perfect day, and it was so nice spending the evening with family.

The Day We Said "I Do"

August 24th, 2014, The day we became a family. A magical blur, as Tim describes it, and it really was. In the blink of an eye, all the months of preparation and planning, finished. We were both so nervous the morning of, neither of us really like to be the center of attention. I even had my garter fall to my ankle while walking down the aisle. But, when our eyes locked everything and everyone faded away, and it was just the two of us.

Tim and I decided to repeat aloud vows that we found and really liked, but also wrote our own personal ones to share quietly with one another. Tim mentioned our inside jokes and eloquently described his love for me. I was trying so hard not to cry, but once I saw a tear stream down his face, I couldn't hold back.

Our reception turned out beautifully and I'm so thankful for all the help from our family and friends. This was definitely a team effort and it wouldn't have been possible without everyone. Our cupcakes and topper cake were amazingly crafted. I had no idea desserts could look so perfect. After dinner, we opened the mic for speeches and toasting. Everyone had so many kind words to share and so much love filled the room, Tim and I are still reminiscing about some of them.

Our first dance was to XO covered by John Mayer. It's a little funny that our song is originally by Beyonce, but its sentimental to us and our relationship. We then danced with family and opened the floor for everyone to join. Tim and I got to sit back and watch all the love in the room, it was so beautiful and probably one of my favorite moment of the night.

I am so glad to have these photos for the rest of our life together to look back on. I hope you enjoyed a peek into our big day, and I hope you'l stick around to see where life takes us on this journey together!

Honeymoon In The Desert | Salvation Mountain

Good morning, all! I decided to waste no time in sharing the final bunch of photos from our trip. After seeing the Salton Sea, we drove to Salvation Mountain. What an amazing piece of art and an inspirational form of dedication. There's so much to see here, every nook and cranny is covered in detail. It's amazing that a man spent all of his time and effort in creating it.

Tim and I had such a good time exploring this magical mountain.. for the first half hour that is. We got in the car to leave, but Tim was feeling adventurous, so he decided to drive us up the backside of the mountain because it looked like a lot of others cars had done it in the past. No gravel, just dirt and sand. I got a little nervous and told him we should turn around. Welp, it was too late. Right where we turned around, there was a bunch of loose sand and next thing you know, we're stuck. No matter which way Tim turned the wheel and revved the engine, all that it did was kick up dirt and make us sink deeper. I'll admit, I was pretty embarrassed and got pretty ticked off at Tim, but looking back at it now... getting stuck on Salvation Mountain is a pretty funny thing to have happen, but the 120 degree heat and tow truck cost was no laughing matter.

We didn't get to explore Slab City because of the time it took for us to get off the mountain, but the drive back was really nice and once we got back we took a dip in the pool, had dinner at Joshua Tree Saloon with some live entertainment, and ended the night with a bonfire and roasted marshmallows.

Overall our honeymoon was a fun and memorable trip, and I'm so glad we got to go. I have a stack of instant photos from our trip that I'm going to do a project with too, I'll share about it later :)
